GOLDEN MEDAL OF THE HISTORICAL & ETHNOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF GREECE	WE SET SAIL, IN SEARCH OF OUR NAVAL PAST The Maritime Museum of Crete was founded in Chania in order to shelter, to preserve and exhibit our naval traditions - especially those of Crete - which have always been a source for national survival and inspiration. In this web site there are briefly presented the context and the activities of our Museum, having the ambition to spread them in every corner of Greece and abroad.
